01Learning and campus areas covered
The review may consider campus entrance, security, reception, administration, classrooms, laboratories, library, staff rooms, counselling and meeting areas, assembly or auditorium space, dining, play areas, toilets, transport access and service zones. A nursery, school, training centre and college have different age groups and movement patterns. The institution should explain its educational model and daily timetable so the plan is understood in use.
02Institutional details required
Provide the master plan, reliable north, roads and gates, student and staff numbers, age groups, building levels, classroom allocation, major departments, transport and emergency access. Mention whether the request concerns land selection, a new campus, an extension, renovation or an existing institution. Identify accessibility, safeguarding and regulatory constraints. This prevents a traditional layout discussion from ignoring the responsibilities attached to educational premises.
03Campus plans and supporting material
Useful uploads include a directional site plan, floor layouts and a simple department or room schedule. Mark new work separately from existing buildings and show common circulation, stairs and lifts. Approved photographs may clarify open space or an entrance, but student faces and personal records must never be included. Submit only material authorised by the institution; protected security and child-related information is unnecessary for Vastu review.
04Educational floor-plan review process
The expert review begins with campus access and overall zoning, then considers administration, teaching, specialist learning, staff, student support, recreation and services. Movement at arrival, class change and departure can provide important context. Observations may be grouped by new-build decisions and feasible improvements to existing buildings. Architects, fire and accessibility consultants, education authorities and safeguarding professionals retain responsibility for compliant design and operation.
05Online consultation for management teams
Trustees, administrators and designers can join a structured video consultation to review the campus plan together. One authorised coordinator should gather accurate data and define the decisions requiring discussion. Phone follow-up may suit specific points. Remote review is available for institutions outside Chennai, but the service does not assess teaching quality, student outcomes, accreditation, building condition or security through the drawing.
06Campus site-visit requests
A visit may be requested for a large or multi-building campus, uncertain site direction, phased development or conditions that cannot be seen on plans. The institution must control access, protect students, arrange an authorised escort and follow all safeguarding rules. Scope, timing and availability are confirmed separately. The visit is not an inspection of structural safety, fire systems, accessibility, child protection or academic compliance.
07Related institutional services
Office Vastu may help with a separate administrative headquarters, while canteen planning may overlap with Restaurant Vastu and storage buildings with Warehouse Vastu. Describe these components within the campus enquiry so their relationship is visible. A school opening, Bhoomi Pooja or inauguration date can be discussed through a separate Muhurtham request only after authorities and contractors establish feasible dates.
08Including the right educational stakeholders
The planning conversation benefits from an administrator who understands the timetable, a designer who knows the buildings and a safeguarding lead who can identify protected routes or information. Student data is not required. Agree on the questions before the meeting and document any item that needs formal authority review, so traditional observations never bypass education policy or child-safety responsibilities.
09Serving education providers
Serving clients from Adambakkam, Velachery, Pallavaram, Tambaram, Porur, Anna Nagar, OMR, Sholinganallur and education communities across Chennai and Tamil Nadu. The sole physical consultation office is in Adambakkam.
